1. What SpamBounty is
SpamBounty is a free tool for people in Europe who get unwanted commercial email. It helps you exercise your rights under the GDPR: it drafts the Article 15 access request for you, sends it to the sender, chases them if they ignore it, and prepares a small-claims court filing if it comes to that.
The tool is free to sign up and free to use. You pay nothing to send a request, nothing to send a pre-filing letter, and nothing to file in small-claims court. The only fee we charge is 20% of a settlement a sender pays you through our escrow, capped at €40 per case. If the sender just complies and stops, we earn nothing, and that is fine.
SpamBounty is a trading name of Block Ventures Sp. z o.o., a Polish limited-liability company registered in Tychy (KRS 0000810986). We are a technology operator. We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice.
2. Why we built it
The GDPR gives individuals strong rights but the procedural effort required to exercise them is real. For one piece of spam, almost no one goes to the trouble of filing a proper Article 15 request, tracking the 30-day deadline, and drafting a small-claims document. The result is that a right that exists on paper is almost never exercised in practice.
We think that is a bug. The paperwork is repetitive enough to automate, and the filings are standardised enough to template. If we remove the friction, people can actually use the rights they already have.
We also think the incentives matter. A subscription model would charge you every month whether your problem got solved or not. An up-front fee would punish you for trying. A cut of every court award would push us toward escalation even when a sender is willing to comply. The only fee structure that aligns with the user is a capped percentage of a settlement that actually lands in your account. That is what we chose.
